30 Days Of Thanks: Sabrina

Dear Sabrina,
Do you realize that for about five years, I spent as much time with you at Blockbuster Video as I did with my wife at home. Or, I suppose, she was my girlfriend/fiancée for most of that time. It seems to me that most of that time was spent laughing and having fun more than working. But that was something that you did a really good job of as a Store Manager; being productive while having a good time. I tried to do the same thing for the years that I was in charge, too.
Thanks for promoting me to your second in command. I remember the day that you had asked me (no interview needed). I had thrown a cover box to a movie across the store and broke the plastic display of a movie poster. I always thought that was funny that those two things happened on the same day.
I think that I gave you the worst piece of advice that I had ever given somebody in my adult life. I told you not to start dating Eric because he seemed like he was a really nice guy and you would only lost interest in him. That was one thing that I’m okay with being wrong about over the years. I’m glad that things worked out for you guys. It still amazes me that he can make a living by playing poker online. Fascinating. That is really my dream; to wear pajamas to work every day. Unfortunately, that narrows down the job market to day trader, writer and porn star. Really, I’m a one-woman man and Leigha is much better than I with money, so I think that I’ll stick with writing.
Thanks for breaking the fraternization rules at work and hanging out with me and Leigha, having a weekly game night. I’ve spent my whole life ready and willing to have a game night. I must say that I always had fun, but I honestly felt guilty that we were breaking the rules at work. I know that it was a dumb rule, but I never really told anybody that we were hanging out.
Thanks for inviting us to your clean out the cupboards booze party. Not only was it fun, but Leigha found her drink of choice from that, the mojito. I’m sorry that things worked out like the did at Blockbuster, but at times, I feel like we were on the Titanic and you got out before the ship hit the iceberg and I got out before it sunk. I hope that things are going well with you.

  Adam
